Increase In Car Sales Results In Turbocharger Boom

News
The Turbocharger Boom! The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders have reported that UK car sales reached a significant high with 492,774 individuals registering a new vehicle in March 2015. This is the highest monthly figure for car sales to date for this century, with the Society revealing that figures have not been this high since 1999 – when the UK moved to bi-annual registration plate changes. The International Business Times have credited this figure as a result of steady economic growth and an increase in consumer confidence. The figure also correlates with the growing trend of automakers producing vehicles with smaller sized turbocharged engines in an effort to conform to increasingly stringent Government fuel economy rules and standards. The Benefits Of Garrett Ball Bearings

News, Products
Typically, most turbochargers either use a journal or a ball bearing system – or a variation of one of these themes. Definitions:  The cartridge ball bearing System: A cartridge style system containing eight angular contact ball bearings at either end. The journal bearing system: A solid bearing system which contains a thrust bearing and a set of journal bearings.  The journal bearing system has traditionally been the staple of most turbocharger systems, popular because of its low cost and reliability. Indeed the vast majority of turbochargers currently in service in OE applications feature a journal bearing system. The Garrett Ball Bearing Turbo range offers a significant development, with the ball-bearing design offering a popular alternative with well proven performance gains to the journal bearing. Garrett has revealed that the advanced ball bearing design was the product…

An Interview With MD Peter Marsh

An Interview With MD Peter Marsh

News

At about that time he also got involved in a chip tuning business, reprogramming Eprom Chips, which was obviously an ideal complement to the turbo enterprise. The local turbo business, which was just 100 yards away from his home, was then bought by Lucas who he continued with. “I was designing and selling hybrid turbochargers and Lucas incorporated them into its product portfolio”. When the firm moved its operations to Burnley Peter…
