In 2015 the Turbo Dynamics Team headed to Tewkesbury to catch up with some old friends and partners to help Litchfield Motors celebrate the opening of their extensively refurbished and extended workshop. To mark the occasion Litchfield held a charity open day with reduced dyno rates for Nissan R35 GTR owners to test their motors on their brand new state of the art rolling road, with all proceeds being donated to charity.
Litchfield was founded 20 years ago by Managing Director, Iain Litchfield. Since its establishment the brand has become one of the most recognisable and respected names in high performance car sales and tuning. Turbo Dynamics are proud to be longstanding technical partners of Litchfield Motors, working together for over a decade on numerous projects which push the boundaries of performance turbocharger technology, including upgrades such as the Subaru Twin Scroll Turbochargers as well as our renowned Litchfield Nissan GT-R R35 Twin-Turbo Hybrid upgrades which are available in many different stages to suit all requirements. More recently we have worked with Iain and his team at Litchfield Motors to supply a pair of bespoke Borg Warner EFR turbochargers for retro-fit to a customer’s Ferrari 458. On top of this we are excited to be working with Litchfields to develop uprated turbochargers for the latest BMW M3 and M4 platforms.
Along with our team from Turbo Dynamics, which included Founder and Managing Director Peter Marsh, Operations Manager Matt Waterman and Head of Sales and Business Development, Stuart Flanagan, there were also a number of other leading automotive companies present including Akrapovic Exhausts and ASNU Injectors. This gave GT-R owners and automotive enthusiasts in general a rare opportunity to converse with and ask questions to real industry experts.
Visitors and guests were given the chance to explore the new premises which comprised of a dedicated engine assembly room, a larger engine and gearbox strip down area with first class industrial cleaning machines, new ramps and cutting edge machines which have been transported from the previous Litchfield machine site in Gloucester. The new addition of these machines means that all engineering work can now be completed on one site.
The main attraction of the event proved to be the state of the art Rolling Road Test Cell which houses the latest MAHA 4 wheel drive dyno track where visitors were able to see their cars get put to the test on the dyno whilst enjoying the comfort of the freshly refurbished waiting area complete with wall mounted plasma televisions.
Turbo Dynamics Founder and Managing Director, Peter Marsh, commented on the day stating: “It was a fantastic opportunity to see Iain’s new premises really taking shape and being a GTR owner myself, it was great to see so many examples in one place! Iain and the team at Litchfield continue to provide a professional and yet personal service to their clients and we at Turbo Dynamics are proud to be associated with them.”
Operations Manager, Matt Waterman, added: “It is always nice to catch up with Iain and the team at Litchfield Motors but today’s event has been particularly special – Nissan GT-R owners and serious car enthusiasts really were in their element.
Over the years we really have built up a great working relationship with Litchfield which recently included sponsoring a brand new class in the Litchfield GTROC Sprint Series. With many more projects in the pipeline we can’t wait to see more Turbo Dynamics built and supplied turbos put to the test in their brand new facility.”
All proceeds from the event were donated to two Jenson’s Journey charities; one which supports children with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma and one which raises awareness and money for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
